I had the pleasure of covering the Wild N’ Out popup shop at Furious Styles Barbershop this past weekend. It was a great time and I got to see my favorite comedians Chico Bean and Karlous. I was waiting on them to break out the old school battle but that didn’t happen. Instead of the usual setup, the cast allowed the audience to be the stars. Rappers, actors, aspiring Instagram models (yes that’s a thing), and comedians gathered to display their talents. I felt like I was at my high school talent show but nonetheless, it was a great time.
I am not sure why but the fashions shocked me the most. I know in Atlanta you never know what to expect from a person’s wardrobe but I did not expect to see Mickey mouse ears and the “Yep in my white tee” trend return. Not sure if they realized how they’d be a target but maybe the gimmick look is what they were going for. Although I expected more performing from the cast of the show, in the end I agreed with their decision to allow the audience to be the stars. Besides, they did bring out their best fake jewelry and crispy tall white tees. All in all, I had an amazing time and I hope this series decides to invade Atlanta again in the future.
