A Relationship is NOT a Necessity…Sometimes, You’re Better Off Single

Being single in a world of couples can certainly be tough at times. It can feel like you’re destined for a life of unhappiness, even when you’re better off out of your previous relationship. You may also find that friends and family offer unsolicited advice on how to “get back out there” and find yourself someone new. However, there isn’t anything wrong with wanting to stay single for a while. In fact, it comes with plenty of benefits. Here are six reasons why you’re better off single.

  1. Sleeping Alone Is Amazing

While it’s true that having someone to cuddle at night can certainly be comforting at times, it’s equally accurate to say that sleeping next to someone can sometimes be tough. This is especially true when your partner snores or happens to move about a lot in their sleep. When you’re single, you usually have the bed to yourself, allowing you to rest in peace and quiet.

  1. Relationships Are Too Expensive

From the moment you get into a relationship, you start to waste money. There are the dates, the gifts, the trips, and much more. Getting married is also incredibly expensive, as will be the potential divorce, even with a law firm, like Bikel Law, helping you with your case. That being said, if you avoid relationships completely, you will leave your bank account looking a lot healthier.

  1. Freedom To Have Fun

When you’re seeing someone, you need to consider them before doing almost anything. You can’t make plans with your friends, book a vacation, or redecorate your home without first checking that it is okay. Thankfully, this isn’t the case when you’re single. Instead, you have the freedom and independence to do whatever you want, allowing you to have much more fun.

  1. Other Relationships Can Flourish

Although you should still be spending time with your friends when you’re in a relationship, it isn’t always easy to do so. After all, you have to split your time between them and your partner, with your partner usually getting the most attention. With that in mind, the single life means you can give more time to your friends, which will allow these other relationships to grow and flourish.

  1. Build A Better You

Being in a relationship usually leads individuals to become complacent. They stop working out, eat all of the wrong foods, spend too much time in front of the television, and pick up other unhealthy habits. This is because you don’t feel the need to be your best self in front of your partner. Singlehood, however, can spur you to be more healthy and work on your body and mind.

  1. Life Is Pretty Good

When something isn’t broken, why would you try to fix it? If life is already looking pretty good for you right now, then don’t feel like you have to hunt for a significant other. Society tries to tell us that we can’t be happy alone, but that just isn’t the case. In fact, if you try to force yourself to be with someone, you could find yourself worse off than you were to start with.

Being in a relationship can be great, but there are plenty of reasons to stick to the single life instead.
